Celebrate the Season

Christmas is just around the corner and there are many events at the library and around Jackson that will celebrate this holiday season.

Library events include:

Food For Fines – If you have an overdue book or a fine on your library account, you can bring in a can food item or a pet food item and have a charge waived from your account between December 1st and December 20. Canned food items will go to RIFA and the Madison County Humane Society. ONE ITEM will count for the fines for ONE BOOK. Cans only please.

Main Library

Thursday December 11, 6pm: Christmas Pajama Storytime. – Come enjoy a special Christmas PJ Storytime with a special quest from the North Pole!

Saturday December 13, 10 and 11am: Christmas Cookie Decorating – Join us as we get into the holiday spirit by decorating some cookies! pre-registration is required for this event. Call 425-8600 ext. 4 to reserve your spot. All ages welcom each session wil be limited to 12 children.

Library North

Tues. and Wed. December 2-3, 11am – Preschool Storytime. Join us as we work on a gingerbread house. Ages: 3-5.

Thursday December 11th, 4pmSchool Aged Storytime: Join us as we learn about adjectives and work on a gingerbread house. Ages: 6-8

Tuesday & Wednesday December 16-17thPreschool Storytime: Join us as we read about bells. Ages: 3-5.

Tuesday and Wednesday, December 30-31Preschool Storytime: Join us as we read about penguins. Ages: 3-5.

Other events in Jackson include:

Monday December 1st 6:45 pm. The Jackson Christmas Parade, “A STORYBOOK CHRISTMAS” – Entry deadline is Nov. 10. Staging is from 4-6 pm Monday at the Civic Center. The rain date is Dec. 2. For more information, visit www.jacksonparade.com or call Vicki Zamata at 731-217-2347.

December 5-7. LANA Holiday Home Tour –  Residents of the central Jackson neighborhood that surrounds Lambuth University have banded together to preserve the architectural and historic integrity of the area. This LANA fund-raiser features a Christmas season homes tour. For more information go to this website.
