Blog Tutorial

Hi everyone!  I have had some questions about the blog recently so I just thought I would give you a basic introduction to blogs…

Blog stands for “Web Log”. A blog is basically a frequently updated websites that contain posts which appear in reverse chronological order. This means that the newest posts appear on top while the older posts move down. Blog posts are never deleted they only move down as newer posts are written. This is why we have old posts on this blog.

Here is a basic definition of “blog” from Wikipedia:

“a Web site, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. “Blog” can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog. Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, Web pages, and other media related to its topic.”

This blog currently has two authors myself (Beth McEwen) and Elizabeth Parnell, our children’s librarian. Please feel free to comment on any posts on this blog! For questions or further information please email me at beth.mcewen@lssi.com.
