FREE Program Offers Help With Applying for Financial Aid for College

If you or anyone in your family is planning to go to college, NOW is the time for you to begin working on the college financial aid application. We have a program in Tennessee called College Goal Sunday that you need to know about and it’s co-sponsored by the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC) and the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC). College Goal Sunday is a free program to help you and your family complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is used to determine eligibility for many types of financial aid.

On Sunday February 22, at 2:00 p.m. (in both time zones), volunteers from Tennessee college financial aid offices will be available at 35 locations across the state to help you complete the FAFSA and make sure that the process of applying for financial aid does not become an obstacle that would keep you or your family members from going to college. By attending College Goal Sunday, you will have the opportunity to walk away from the event knowing you’ve tackled one of the most important steps in getting ready to go to college.
