Write your own book!  The sky’s the limit.  Need an idea to get started?  Find a favorite story and make a spinoff!  (I think mine would be Don’t Let the Pigeon Eat Broccoli.)  Did you know that Mo Willems the author of the popular Pigeon Books encourages kids to write stories about the pigeon and recreate his drawings?  He loves to see them too!  You can check out his blog for more info: http://mowillemsdoodles.blogspot.com.

Write a song!

Have fun, and feel free to comment on the activities you enjoyed and suggest others!  And Happy 4th of July!  (Be sure to share your writing talents with your family & friends over the holiday weekend!)
