Special Storytime: Celebrating the Imagination Library

September 14-18, 2009 is Imagination Library week all across the state of Tennessee, and we are going to celebrate here at the Jackson Madison County Library!

The Imagination Library is a literacy program that gets books into the hands of preschoolers!  Every child in Madison County, from birth to age five, is eligible to receive a FREE developmentally appropriate book sent to their Madison County address every month.  It is a wonderful program, one that encourages preschool children to fall in love with reading and book…and what better way to do that than to give these children books of their very own to cherish!

We invite you to join us as we celebrate Imagination Library week on Tuesday, September 15 at 10:30am during our normal Preschool Storytime hour.  We will be reading some fun books that are from the Imagination Library collection and have other fun activities like face painting!  Ribbee from the Diamond Jaxx is scheduled to make an appearance too!  We hope you come out to celebrate this wonderful program.  This program will take place in Rotary Park, which is adjacent to the Main Library downtown.  You may access the park through the library. We hope to see you there!

If you have a child under the age of five who is not signed up for the Imagination Library, visit the Madison County Imagination Library Website at ilmctn.com to do so, or stop by the library to pick up a registration form.

The Imagination Library is funded by donations from our community.  If you would like to donate, send donations to Imagination Library; P.O. Box 1904; Jackson, TN 38302.  Please do not send cash.  $15 will provide a year’s books (12) to one child in Madison County, and any donation is most appreciated.  What better gift to give than the love of reading?
