Did you know the Jackson Madison County Friends of the Library hosts monthly Book Reviews on the first Thursday of each month at noon?
Well, you are most cordially invited to attend.
On October 1 at noon, their special guests will be Linda J. Higgins and Scott Parish, authors of the new book Images of America: Madison County Tennessee. Mrs. Higgins is the Madison County Historian and free-lance writer. Mr. Parish is an author, businessman, and president of the Lambuth Area Neighborhood Association.
This pictorial book highlights business and history of Madison County in the 20th century using pictures from the Business and History Project done by a Lambuth University professor in the 1980’s. There are also new, unpublished photos that augment the telling of the history of Madison County.
On November 5 at noon, the Friends will welcome Marilyn Mae Randall, author of five children’s books including Southern Christmas, Wishes for Christmas, and The Meanie. Though written for children, her books are for adults too!
Described as “the funniest author in the world” by her listeners, she has a very active speaking schedule including workshops at universities and numerous children’s school programs, as well as book talks at bookstores and civic organizations.
Feel free to check out Marilyn Mae Randall’s website to find out more information.
We hope you can attend these great events! They take place at the Main Library in the Program Center. You are welcome to bring your lunch to enjoy during the presentation and the Friends provide delicious desserts and coffee.
We look forward to seeing you there!
