J.D. Salinger, author of “The Catcher in the Rye” has passed away

J.D. Salinger, the author of “The Catcher in the Rye,” has passed away from natural causes at the age of 91. According to the New York Times, Mr. Salinger turned his back on fame and lived as a recluse for nearly 50 years. “Catcher in the Rye” was published in 1951. His only other works include the short story collection “Nine Stories” and two compilations: “Franny and Zooey” and “Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters and Seymour: An Introduction”
