Summer Reading Program 2010
Starting tomorrow, you can visit either library location to register for Children, Teen, or Adult reading clubs! (Registration ends June 11th) The Summer Reading Program runs through July 15 and we have tons of fun events planned and have many great prizes to give away, including an iPod for the teens and a $50 Target gift card for the adults!
Used Book Sale
Our annual used book sale will be held this Friday-Sunday, June 4th-6th. Hours are 9:30-4:30 Friday and Saturday and 1-5 Sunday. Bring a copy of a book sale advertisement from The Jackson Sun to receive one free book! Thousands of books, CDs and DVDs will be on sale. All proceeds benefit the library. Cash and credit cards will be accepted.
19th Annual Shannon Street Blues & Heritage Fest
Blues Fest is this weekend at the West Tennessee Farmers Market in downtown Jackson. Gates will open at 5 p.m. on Friday. Saturday’s scheduled events will begin with a 5k run at 8 a.m., followed by a barbecue cookoff, motorcycle dice run and Parkway Christian Auto Club cruise-in. Featured acts include Little Boys Blue, Magi and Joshua Singleton, Jimbo Mathus, Amy LaVere, Terry “Big T” Williams and The Insomniacs. Admission is $15 for one day or $25 for both days.
