It is a new day at the library. Many are calling it a “rebirth,” and that is really the feel you get when you enter either of the library’s locations. The remodeling at the Main Library has been completed, and our North Branch is flourishing in its new location as well. Our focus now will be on providing you with the level of library service you deserve. The stage has been set; we are ready to serve!

Just to catch you up on our regular programs, I will list them below:

  • We have four preschool storytimes each week: Main Library on Tuesdays and Fridays at 10:30. North Branch on Thursdays at 10:15 and 11:00.
  • We have a Library Club which meets on Fridays at 2:00 pm. This group consists of homeschoolers.
  • We now offer several computer classes each week. We are partnering with Workforce Essentials; they teach a class each day, and a member of the library staff teaches a few extra classes per week. Most classes are conducted in our “Community Classroom” at the Main Library, but we have recently added a couple classes per month at our North Branch. Call the Library and ask for Zoe for more information.
  • The Friends of the Library continue to present delightful guests to the community at their “Noon Book Review” on the first Thursday of each month.

Our special “Teen Room” was opened last week. The young adult reading collection is housed in this area along with dedicated touch screen computers and a gaming system. The materials may be checked out by any patron, but the computers and gaming system are restricted to teens only.

Both the Main Library and the North Branch have program rooms which are available should your group need a meeting place.
