Back to School and Fall Plans

Do you have overdue fines? During the first two weeks of August, we are going to offer a time of “Food for Fines.” You may pay overdue fees by donating one non-perishable food item for each dollar owed. The food will be donated to RIFA, and your child will be all set to check out the materials needed during the school year.

If your child is given a reading list at the beginning of school, we would like to have a copy of it so that we can make sure we have the items you need. We also are making an effort to purchase e-book copies of required reading.

We have just finished a fantastic summer packed with programming for people of all ages. During the month of August we will be making plans for the remainder of the year.  The Friends of the Library already have a great line up of first Thursday “Noon Book Reviews” for you. The Library Foundation is already making plans for the biggest and best “Books of Madison County” event to date.

Is there a topic you would like to know more about? A skill you would like to learn? Or, maybe there is a topic or skill you would like to share with the community. If there is, please give me a call and make your request known.

The library is the place to go for information whether it be written, accessed through technology, or shared verbally.
